Arriving at the park in 1984, the Sarajevo Bobsled was named for the 1984 Olympic Winter Games, held in Sarajevo, Yugoslavia.   The Bobsled was unique in that it did not run on track, with cars that rolled freely down the course, so each ride varied slightly from the differences in weight in each car.   The ride suffered from low capacity since each car held a maximum of 6 guests, and would close at the slightest bit of rain since it would slide on the wet track.

Sarajevo Bobsled was removed in 1988 to make room for Great American Scream Machine.   It was moved to Six Flags Great America in Gurnee, Illinois where it became Rolling Thunder as part of Six Flags "ride rotation program".   From there it moved on to The Great Escape where it currently operates as Alpine Bobsled.
