Glow In The Park Parade for the 2008 Season.

The sun sets on daily operations
at the park, and fall is on its way!
The new fence at Medusa is in
place
The bridge is being repaired
The hot dog stand was moved back
to make a little more room for the Parade crowds
To help relieve the lines at the
original Johnny Rockets, there is now as sign letting everyone know
where the other locations are
A mysterious treasure chest is
sitting near the Looney Tunes Seaport portal

Fright Fest 2008
Preparations
Have Begun!
For the mini-Green Lantern there
is now a fleece costume available
The ogre is now out in the former
Riptide reservoir area
Some of the camo netting is out
getting ready for Fright Fest
The former Riptide reservoir
looks like it's being used for a Fright Fest haunt this year
The signs are now up all around
the park, and on the display in the Outer Mall
With summer coming to an end,
Fright Fest is just around the corner...
The summer flowers are still in
full bloom all around the park
But a teaser display just went
up in the Outer Mall, reminding us all that Fright Fest is coming!

In case you thought Granny's just
did the buffet, it still has the old a la carte menu available as well
The charging stations are now
charging to charge
There are only a few more performances
of the Glow in the Park Parade left this season, so make sure you go out
and see the Parade before it's finished!
The VIP seating area for Glow in
the Park gets you a glow toy and ice cream for the price as well as a
seat
The fence has been moved back and
a new walkway added to let crowds pass during the parade
Bugs Bunny National Park was
crowded on Saturday
These Nitro shirts and glasses
are all marked down...could a name and theme change be in the works?
New Nitro monkey complete with

The Kingdom Traders shop is now
selling a world music collection
There is a TON of new Batman merchandise
in the shops
The villains now have their own
shirt available

I know a lot of people this shirt
would fit REALLY well!
The "Steins on the Rhine" from
Old Country are setup at the old shooting gallery
Another face painting stand has
been setup near the Bugs Bunny National Park entrance
Lots of little carts are setup around
the park to help handle the crowds and keep the lines down for food and
drinks
The bridge between El Toro and
Medusa is closed for now
The bridge is apparently being inspected
with a boat and undergoing repairs
The Elephants look ready to
re-open with several new hydraulic cylinders in place and some fresh
paint

There is a Kumai the Kinkajou
plush available in the Golden Kingdom shops
The neighboring Paintball range
is advertising in the park (I wonder if their hayride will as well?)
The NYPD is recruiting and
advertising in the park
Best of the West had a private
event during the day Saturday
After the unfortunate incident at
Six Flags Over Georgia, the ride fences are getting updated signs
It looks like an additional
safety fence is going up on Medusa
The fence has been raised along
side El Toro in this section where the concrete wall comes up to it
The summer season is coming into the home
stretch already, and the first hints
of fall have popped up around the park. Fright Fest banners
are now in up in a few locations...

The Jeep Test Track has moved on to
another park, and work seems to be taking place on the site.
Could this be preparations for Fright Fest? This would be a
great new location for the Hayride in the park.

The Jeep adds in the park are
kind of funny and well customized for the parks
Six Flags TV is now playing on
the charging stations around the park, so you can watch while your phone
charges
The Parachutes were re-opened
this weekend after being closed for a week or two
This new sponsor is also providing sample wipes to help keep kids clean
and germ free
Super Cats and Super Monkeys?
Hopefully there is some money in
next year's budget for fresh paint
More new speakers have been added
along the parade route to improve the sound
The Conestoga wheels need a
little help so they don't go the way of the Super Teepee

The parade emerges through the gates in a
cloud of fog
Still looking and sounding great!
After 1 month of nightly performances,
the parade is still just as good as the first day it kicked
off in May.

Wiggles World entrance well
Beautiful hanging baskets of all
shapes and sizes are all around the park

flower beds some new dimension.

For all the park "old timers", you might
recognize one of the old grape vine sipper carts has been added as a
landscaping display adding color to an area that needed it.
It's great to see the old cart painted up so nicely and fixed up again!

The landscape crew has been doing
a GREAT job this season
The diversity of plantings and colors
throughout the park really are the finishing touches that make the park
look great, and are a great step to bringing back its original beauty

A Season Pass Upgrade booth is
setup in the catering areas, giving the groups a chance to come back for
the season
Six Flags Friends has been very
active having fundraisers in the park this season
All the rides are running at full
capacity, and having people put their stuff in lockers before boarding
seems to be a huge help in speeding up loading times
There's been a HUGE influx of great new
hats in the shops!
Fantasy Fling is running well and
full capacity all the time
The Fountain looks great at night
The time and temperature sign at
the Fountain is really handy
