The final parade of the season That's All for 2008 Folks!
Labor Day was the final performance of the
Glow In The Park Parade for the 2008 Season.  
To all the people who made the Parade possible, THANK YOU!

The sun sets on daily operations at the park, and fall is on its way! The new fence at Medusa is in place The bridge is being repaired
The hot dog stand was moved back to make a little more room for the Parade crowds To help relieve the lines at the original Johnny Rockets, there is now as sign letting everyone know where the other locations are A mysterious treasure chest is sitting near the Looney Tunes Seaport portal
Cool new shirts The Hayride sign is up next door to the park
Great new shot glasses Scooby Doo capes are now available at the games Budweiser Clydesdales?
The hanging baskets are down for the season on the front of Fort Independence Captain Caveman!!! What year is this?   Is Pac-Man fever back again and I just don't know about it?
Fright Fest 2008
Preparations
Have Begun!
For the mini-Green Lantern there is now a fleece costume available The ogre is now out in the former Riptide reservoir area
Some of the camo netting is out getting ready for Fright Fest The former Riptide reservoir looks like it's being used for a Fright Fest haunt this year The signs are now up all around the park, and on the display in the Outer Mall

With summer coming to an end,
Fright Fest is just around the corner...
The summer flowers are still in full bloom all around the park But a teaser display just went up in the Outer Mall, reminding us all that Fright Fest is coming!

In case you thought Granny's just did the buffet, it still has the old a la carte menu available as well The charging stations are now charging to charge
There are only a few more performances of the Glow in the Park Parade left this season, so make sure you go out and see the Parade before it's finished!
The VIP seating area for Glow in the Park gets you a glow toy and ice cream for the price as well as a seat The fence has been moved back and a new walkway added to let crowds pass during the parade Bugs Bunny National Park was crowded on Saturday
These Nitro shirts and glasses are all marked down...could a name and theme change be in the works? New Nitro monkey complete with belly button The Kingdom Traders shop is now selling a world music collection
 
There is a TON of new Batman merchandise in the shops The villains now have their own shirt available
Cool new keychain There is a new collection of shot glasses
Always great to see the souvenirs made park-specific instead of just generic Six Flags


I know a lot of people this shirt would fit REALLY well! The "Steins on the Rhine" from Old Country are setup at the old shooting gallery Another face painting stand has been setup near the Bugs Bunny National Park entrance
Lots of little carts are setup around the park to help handle the crowds and keep the lines down for food and drinks The bridge between El Toro and Medusa is closed for now
The bridge is apparently being inspected with a boat and undergoing repairs
The Elephants look ready to re-open with several new hydraulic cylinders in place and some fresh paint These tiger photos are great! There is a Kumai the Kinkajou plush available in the Golden Kingdom shops
The neighboring Paintball range is advertising in the park (I wonder if their hayride will as well?) The NYPD is recruiting and advertising in the park Best of the West had a private event during the day Saturday
After the unfortunate incident at Six Flags Over Georgia, the ride fences are getting updated signs It looks like an additional safety fence is going up on Medusa The fence has been raised along side El Toro in this section where the concrete wall comes up to it

New T-Shirt New glass dolphins and sea lions
The former Ride Zone shop is now all about the dolphins and seas lions
New Wonder Woman display in the Superman shop El Toro is back up and running after a few days of downtime More of those new umbrellas
Good to see a plant back in the Golden Kingdom courtyard The flume is leaking a lot in one spot Another new ad campaign
The fountain is running again in the lake behind Best of the West Another Chase banner
Some of the park's trees are starting to die off, and are being removed before they become safety hazards Six Flags Friends bears
Another tree that didn't fare well in the recent storms While the Skyride was closed for wind, the crew cleaned all the cars in the storage area This booth seems to change every other week!
Looks like someone ordered too much Speed Racer stuff Characters are now stationed in front of Houdini's gates New sponsorship for the drink carts
All the movie tie-in merchandise is on sale now The dolphin was out in front of the stadium between shows
Looks like one of the signs was stolen Hawk Girl was out with The Flash and Green Lantern
Cool new Dark Knight ad New Superman Ultimate Flight shirts to match the Batman: The Ride shirts in Justice League Headquarters The Dark Knight display is back front and center
Looks like the glass broke in the door again The "Virtual Army Experience" is setup in the park for a week or two, and is HUGE.
A lot of people seem to be checking this out while it's in the park.

Our Coaster Celebration buttons have arrived! The concert lineup has been updated
The Flags Famous Strips (yummy by the way) Family Meal Deal is being promoted around the park.
Some nice new umbrellas with kind of a wood grain pattern have been added
The Hearty Corn stand has been moved from the Fountain area to the old Super Teepee site Cool new Coca Cola chairs have been added to Carnegie Deli The Ride Zone signs have been removed from the shop windows
Dark Knight merchandise has been replaced with Batman: The Ride The Miniature Golf has a new sponsor, the Eagle Ridge Golf Club
New gates have been added to the Dark Knight entrance A cool Verizon/Nokia ad featuring the Joker in Movietown It's all about Batman in Movietown
The Daffy Diver has been experiencing a lot of downtime this season The Royal Elephants are still down, but the missing arm is back in place, so it may re-open soon The sun dappled trees along the Lake remind you why it was called the Enchanted Forest
New midway sign for the Wii Experience The Golden Kingdom looks better and better as the foliage keeps filling in and blooming
One of the games has now been turned into a Prize Check so you don't have to lug around those stuffed animals all day Fun new pillows
There were free samples of Fanta Orange at the park The summer flowers in the Outer Mall look great... ...but fall is just around the corner, and Michael's already has their Halloween Villages on sale!

Parade Update
The Dark Knight looks great The tropical landscaping is filling in beautifully
Decorative chili peppers in Plaza del Carnavale... ...including purple peppers! More tropical foliage
 
A new crane topiary and water plantings in the waterfall area Everything is in bloom and looking great around the park
     
A former planting area which was part of the Evolution site has been paved...maybe something is coming here for Fright Fest? Here's the same are from above 2 weeks ago
 
The Jeep Test Track has moved on to another park, and work seems to be taking place on the site.   Could this be preparations for Fright Fest?   This would be a great new location for the Hayride in the park.
     
The observatory Seaport Eats got some great new signs
     
The Jeep adds in the park are kind of funny and well customized for the parks Six Flags TV is now playing on the charging stations around the park, so you can watch while your phone charges The Parachutes were re-opened this weekend after being closed for a week or two

This new sponsor is also providing sample wipes to help keep kids clean and germ free
Super Cats and Super Monkeys? Hopefully there is some money in next year's budget for fresh paint
More new speakers have been added along the parade route to improve the sound   The Conestoga wheels need a little help so they don't go the way of the Super Teepee
 
 Wall-E Videogame ads continue to blur the lines of which park chain you're in! Cool new perk for using your Six Flags Mastercard New Chase sponsorship signs have been added in the park (they issue the SF Mastercard)

Mid-Season Update 
The parade emerges through the gates in a cloud of fog  Still looking and sounding great!  After 1 month of nightly performances, the parade is still just as good as the first day it kicked off in May.

The Big Six deal is back this summer Thank you Dodge for sponsoring the fireworks!
The July 4th all you can eat barbeque was a great deal They are really promoting the cabana rentals The fireworks barge gets prepped for the show
The Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep displays Filling the mortars
Microsoft Sync was being promoted on the Super Teepee site over the holiday weekend
Colorful new Looney Tunes prizes The landscaping is looking great!
One of the new villains on the streets The fences on the Movietown portal have been removed, making it easier to get around when the Glow in the Park Parade is running
Always great to see the Skyride running both sides! The fenceless portal Wiggles characters have been added to that colorful backdrop
FIREWORKS!
     
The brickwork on the curb in front of Houdini is finishing up One of the posters is missing over in the Fort Beautiful day!
Additional lighting on the Dark Knight entrance Additional lockers The Jeep display in front of the Stunt Arena
The old Chiller ride area has been turned into a test course for demonstrating Jeep vehicles
That ramp looks HUGE(and fun!) Really good ad for Jeep
Good to see an otherwise dead space being used The flower cart has been moved across the walkway
Off-road fun! This shop is now Ride Zone, with all the coaster shirts and souvenirs
The little drink stand got a new sign, with the dolphins on it New corn stand where the flower cart was...delicious! Cool new magnet...too bad it's got the Magic Mountain skyline

The Thursday Night Concert Series is in full swing A refreshment stand has been added to the Outer Mall
Some more cool new hats! The Glow in the Park hat actually lights up!
The Glow in the Park shirts are now out in all the stores
Another Glow in the Park shirt display in Attitudes The Fireworks barge is getting cleaned up Cool new color letters for the Starburst concert series
FYI- To help plan your visit, Medusa opens at Noon Here's the latest Sunday Night Concert Series lineup Buy some Starburst and get the VIP treatment!
With summer in full swing now, lots of carts have been brought out around the park to help alleviate the lines for food and drinks, and a hot dog stand has been added to Nitro's queue
Some of the new sponsors in the park Season Pass Processing has moved
The Elephants have been closed off for maintenance with one arm missing right now Fred & Wilma
Modell's is now sponsoring the basketball games Ben & Jerry's got their own umbrellas now
The Chrysler vehicles are on display in two locations now The landscape where the Hydro Flume was is filling in nicely

The landscaping all around the park looks really great, and is filling in nicely!
 
Granny's has now become an all-you-can-eat buffet...a great value! Awesome new Batman: The Ride shirt

June 7-8
Thomas Tank now is being sold with his own Six Flags car New bumperstickers
These cool new Justice League bottles are invading all the shops!
A section of Houdini's fence has been moved to make the path wider for the Parade The Justice League members are now making appearances at the Fountain while their theme song plays on the sound system Saturday was a Christian concert I've never heard of
The group seems to be popular despite near 100 degree heat The T-shirt and CD sellers were setup in Frontier Adventures for the concert
New giraffe topiary Fred & Wilma are finally back in their summer home Lots of LEGO sets for the new Batman movie are in the shops
More of those JLA sippers Cool new Dark Knight mugs with little spinny things in the side
Sunday, June 8th- Blondie
Debbie Harry is still the coolest chick in the universe!
The heat kept the crowd low, but a bunch of Coaster Enthusiasts from Britain (in the fluorescent green shirts) took in the show This tour is celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Parallel Lines Album Despite the near 100 degree heat, the band went on and did a GREAT show!
Debbie sounded great, and the band was really good, and seemed to be having fun
Blondie still rocks!

May 30-June 1
These cool flowers fit the Wiggles World entrance well Beautiful hanging baskets of all shapes and sizes are all around the park
The flowers on Fort Independence are now up The cool baskets on columns give the flower beds some new dimension.
The purple flowers will look great once they start growing on the vines More of those planter baskets are in beds all around the fountain area
Each basket has its own colorful variety of plants
For all the park "old timers", you might recognize one of the old grape vine sipper carts has been added as a landscaping display adding color to an area that needed it.   It's great to see the old cart painted up so nicely and fixed up again!
The fences in the catering area have these great hanging baskets now
The area in front of Showcase Theater looks really good All the summer flowers are now in along Dream Street The landscape crew has been doing a GREAT job this season
The diversity of plantings and colors throughout the park really are the finishing touches that make the park look great, and are a great step to bringing back its original beauty
Great deals can be had if you know where to look for them! This stand is back to being a Guess Your Weight booth The neon looks good on the sign
Branches has been moved to the pathway into The Golden Kingdom TV Crews were filming for Six Flags TV all weekend Another Live & Local unplugged sign has been added
The Living Statue Garden is going with a copper theme this year instead of the stone theme from last season Rolling Thunder is racing!
A Season Pass Upgrade booth is setup in the catering areas, giving the groups a chance to come back for the season Six Flags Friends has been very active having fundraisers in the park this season All the rides are running at full capacity, and having people put their stuff in lockers before boarding seems to be a huge help in speeding up loading times
There's been a HUGE influx of great new hats in the shops!
     
Fantasy Fling is running well and full capacity all the time The Fountain looks great at night The time and temperature sign at the Fountain is really handy
