The staff's teamwork was great to watch    Families lined the route each night
The organization and cooperation among all the park employees to make the Glow in the Park Parade a success is amazing to watch as the route is setup.   Each night has had slight variations on the setup as the process was fine tuned, but the crew did an excellent job all weekend.
Is this a Disney park?    The crowds seemed to enjoy the Parade very much

These guys are really good  The Park drew big crowds with the nearly perfect weather for the entire holiday weekend  There was a display of Chrysler vehicles setup in front of the Big Wheel
The Memorial Day Weekend was the first big test of the park for the season with the new shows coming online, and the big crowds arriving.   The park seems to have done VERY well, drawing lots of families, with the rides running at full capacity, the park looking clean and great, and employees being friendly, fast and efficient all over the park.

Job well done Six Flags Great Adventure Staff!

Rolling Thunder was racing all weekend

The freshly painted square got a Wiggles World sign now  Whenever the wind permitted, both side of the Skyride ran most of the weekend.

There is no missing that the Glow in the Park Parade is now running!
There was a preview on Friday night, and the Parade is AMAZING!!!  You must see it in person, photos and video do not do it justice!
Around the top of the Main Street Market is a new display of pictures from throughout the history of the park.

This is a really great display of the park's history, featuring many past rides, shows and attractions as well as the park as it is today.

This is a great display of the park, and everyone should stop in and take a few minutes to check out all the pictures of the park through the years and see how things have changed over time!

Glow in the Park Parade
In a word, "WOW!!!".   Pictures do not do this parade justice, you have to get to the park and see it for yourself!   The Glow in the Park Parade is one of the best things Six Flags has introduced EVER!   This is sure to be a highlight of the season for many guests.

With 5 large floats, a bunch of little floats and 85 performers, the Parade is a real spectacle and worth staying late on a summer night!

PLEASE NOTE:
The quality of these pictures is not the greatest since they are frame captures from my camera's video feature.
Better pictures will be coming throughout this weekend, but the Parade MUST be seen in person to be truly appreciated!
From start to finish, the Parade just keeps making you say "WOW"
The Diva and her drummers are the first float in the Parade
The lights and the design of the floats are just amazing
Everyone MUST see this in person for the full effect!
Great costumes and choreography, plus "Cirque" style drummers and jumpers
Small push floats like the frog add a lot to the flow
The graceful bird follows the frog
And following the armies are Wonder Woman and the amazing dragon float
The dragon's head moves as it rolls along
And it periodically breathes smoke
After the dragon, the Batsignals go up and the villains arrive with their gangs
Joker, Riddler and Sinestro with their convict friends
The caped crusader enters on the Gotham City float
The gargoyles, cityscape and Batsignal make a great backdrop
As Batman moves on, seas creatures come in
The starfish, seahorse and octopus
The nautical theme continues, as a ship sails into view
The elaborate ship float is really impressive
Wiggles World characters ride the ship
The ship sails on and the Looney Tunes enter
Road Runner, Wile E. Coyote, and Marvin Martian lead the way
And the Looney Tunes float brings the Parade to an end
"That's All Folks!"

THE DARK KNIGHT COASTER
Opening Ceremonies
May 15th, 2008
The Dark Knight Coaster opened to the public today, and it is a GREAT ride, taking the park's collection of coasters and rides to the next level in terms of theme elements and ride experience.   While the ride itself is a standard Wild Mouse style roller coaster, the theme elements and attention to detail take it beyond the traditional coaster ride, and makes it an immersive environment with lots of great details everywhere you look.

Coming in to the media event The queue of the ride looks great with all the landscaping The former Chiller site looks great
Dark Knight souvenir cart The queue and the sun shade in front of the building The landscaping really adds a lot to the look of the ride building as well as the Movietown area
The exterior of the building looks really great with the landscaping and the newly painted background The new Glow in the Park parade barrier cans came in handy for blacking off the ride area for the media event
The enthusiasts line up to be the first riders on The Dark Knight The media sets up Everyone is anxiously waiting for the grand opening

Mark Kane and the Mayor of Jackson cut the ribbon to officially open the ride!
Our lovely and talented mistress of ceremonies, Angel
The pre-show features a "news report" film specially made for the ride, featuring Aaron Eckhart, the actor playing Harvey Dent in the new movie
The detail level of the theme elements is REALLY impressive!

The Joker interrupts the press conference

Everywhere you look there is great attention to detail

The TV monitor in the queue is fun, superimposing masks on the guests as they pass
The Joker's calling cards are scattered all around
The station carries on the theme, and the ride itself is really great, beyond expectations.   The Dark Knight Coaster truly brings the Six Flags experience to the level of the studio theme parks.
Great job and thank you to our hosts for the Dark knight opening event!!! :)
