Batman: The Ride
In the Spring of 1992, Six Flags Great America and Bolliger & Mabillard turned the coaster world upside down with their introduction of the world's first inverted coaster capable of inversions, Batman: The Ride. The coaster proved so popular that it was introduced at Great Adventure for the next season, opening May 1, 1993. Batman: The Ride offered a fast and intense ride, combined with some of the most elaborate theme elements ever seen at Six Flags parks, and was an immediate and huge success. Great Adventure's Batman:
The Ride was the second of twelve coasters produced throughout the world
using the same design. The coaster remains one of the most popular rides
at the park years after its debut, while other coasters have come and
gone. |
