The Little Wheel

The Little Wheel opened in 1975, in the Fun Fair section (now Movietown).   Fun Fair was a collection of small rides themed to a country fair, and the Little Wheel served as a central visual anchor for the section.

The Little Wheel has also been known as the "Panorama Wheel' and the "Lil' Wheel".    The cars were decorated with flowers on the bottoms, which were originally painted in contrasting colors.   Originally the Little Wheel had a matching floral design lighting package which matched the lighting on the Big Wheel.

While at the park, the cars were modified to include "cages" to increase safety.   Originally the only restraint to keep passengers in the cars was a small chain across the entry.   After the extra security features were added, the Little Wheel had difficulties operating due to the additional weight, and finally it was removed at the end of the 1996 season to make way for The Chiller.
