Bugs
Bunny Land 1988-2004 Originally opened as Kiddie Kingdom two years after the park opened, Bugs Bunny Land underwent many transformations in its lifetime. The early 80's saw it become Shirt Tales Land, with then state of the art climbing nets and interactive elements alongside the rides. When the Looney Tunes became Six Flag's mascots, the area was modified to become Looney Tunes Land, with the rides and play areas given new names. In 1988, the park transformed the area into Bugs Bunny Land when they renewed their focus on being a "family park" updating the look and feel of the area with new modern structures and a new theatre along with a new layout. This included padding under the new climbing structures and "Magic Hands" booths installed throughout which had sound, light an motion dioramas which were activated by kids hands. Over the years, some things were removed and changed, including removal of the Tweety's Ball Crawl, Cargo Nets (Wile E. Coyote's Wild Web), the Elmer Fudd Fun Factory, Tunnels (Pork Pig Pipeline), Diggers (Yosemite Sam Sandbox) and Roller Racers (Sylvester's Scooters). Added during this time were Daffy's Ducaneer, and Speed Trap. The Fun Factory was turned into a birthday pavilion, and the Ball Crawl became the Season Pass Holder Entrance. |
