The New England Skyway was installed at Riverside Park (now Six Flags New England) in 1973. The ride had originally operated at Coney Island as the Astroland Skyride in 1963.

The New England Skyway featured unique round gondolas with a bench with seating for two or three guests facing toward the door. Originally the cars had Plexiglas windows which were removed and replaced with safety bars.

The ride was removed from Six Flags New England in 2014 to make room for future development.
